Question: Can you give me a colon cleanse review for the master cleanse diet? What is your honest opinion? Thanks!
Answer: The master cleanse diet is not really a diet at all, it is actually a fast. The fast consists of a lemon and maple syrup drink with no other food.
The drink is a mixture of real maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and water. This is obviously not enough fuel for the human body so you will lose weight while following the master cleanse.
The detox claims likely come from the fact that the diet (fast) recommends you drink up to a quart of salt water every morning. Salt water makes you go to the bathroom more often then you usually have to which lends some credence to the cleansing part of the diet (fast).
Overall we do not recommend this type of fast very often. The human body has certain nutritional needs which are clearly not being met with the drink used in the master cleanse. There is no protein at all which is not compatible with human life.
Overall the colon cleanse review we would give the master cleanse diet (fast) is poor. In fact it could be dangerous if you have certain medical conditions. If you are not in good health be sure to check with your physician before attempting this diet (fast).
