Question: Are colonic irrigation therapists medically trained? Can anyone become one? I am hesitant to get this therapy done if a person off of the street can be one.
Answer: There is no specific medical training one must undergo before becoming a colonic irrigation therapist that we are aware of although many irrigation therapists have many years of practice under their belt and are perfectly capable of administering hydrotherapy to the colon.
It is not a particularly invasive procedure and the risk is not very high. After all, people have been doing some sort of hydrotherapy for hundreds of years.
The procedure involves the flushing of the colon using warm water. The waste material is then removed through another tube. The therapist will often massage the abdomen during the procedure.
It is recommended you do not eat for twenty-four hours before the procedure. This will allow the treatment to work more efficiently as it won’t be flushing food from your colon that you would have experienced naturally.
If you are still hesitant regarding the procedure you should consider an all natural herbal remedy to cleanse the colon. These remedies are non-toxic, safe, and effective.
We hope that we have put your mind at ease regarding the medical training colonic irrigation therapists receive, but if you would like more info please don’t hesitate to ask.
